A mask for dry and damaged hair: how to choose

Dry and damaged hair are not the same, and they need different masks. Dry hair lacks moisture and softness; damaged hair also lacks smoothness and an even surface. Here is how to tell your case and choose a mask — or combine both.

Dry or damaged: how to tell

  • Dry hair: rough to the touch, lacks softness, frizzes and looks dull. Usual causes are climate, hot water, blow-drying or too little care. ORO mask: BioHydra Therapy.
  • Damaged hair: coarse, straw-like, tangles, breaks, split ends. Usual causes are bleaching, colouring, hot styling. ORO mask: Lipid & Protein Therapy.

BioHydra Therapy — when hydration is missing

Supportive hydration for softness, smoothness and elasticity. It contains hyaluronic acid (Sodium Hyaluronate), watermelon and crambe seed oils, phytosterols and conditioning agents. Suits moderate dryness without pronounced breakage. Frequency: 1–2 times in 7 days.

Lipid & Protein Therapy — when hair is damaged

Richer care for pronounced dryness, porosity, bleached or chemically treated hair. It contains phospholipids, glycolipids, sphingolipids, hydrolysed keratin, soybean oil, cocoa butter and jojoba oil. Frequency: once every 7–10 days.

The honest limit of cosmetic care: a mask does not “repair” hair permanently or “heal” split ends — it improves how the lengths look and feel while you use it.

How to alternate masks for more complete care

If hair is both dry and damaged (often after bleaching or with porous curls), combine the masks in different washes: Lipid & Protein Therapy once every 7–10 days for rich care and BioHydra Therapy in between when the lengths need hydration. Only one mask per wash.

Step by step

  1. 01Wash hair with your system’s shampoo.
  2. 02Squeeze out water with a towel — excess water dilutes the mask.
  3. 03Apply the mask from mid-length to the ends, avoiding the roots.
  4. 04Leave on for 5–10 minutes.
  5. 05Rinse thoroughly.
  6. 06Apply balsam for 2–3 minutes and rinse.

Common misconceptions

  • “A mask replaces balsam” — no, balsam finishes every wash.
  • “The longer, the better” — 5–10 minutes is enough.
  • “Two masks at once double the care” — in one wash they overlap and weigh hair down; alternate them in different washes.
  • “A rich mask suits everyone” — fine hair without damage is more comfortable with BioHydra.

Frequently asked questions

Which mask is best for dry hair?
For moderate dryness — the hydrating BioHydra Therapy, 1–2 times a week.
Which mask for damaged and bleached hair?
Lipid & Protein Therapy — a rich mask with lipids and keratin, once every 7–10 days.
Can I alternate two masks?
Yes, in different washes: for example, Lipid & Protein once a week and BioHydra in between if the lengths need moisture. Not in the same wash.
How often should I use a hair mask?
BioHydra 1–2 times in 7 days, Lipid & Protein once every 7–10 days. Too often risks weighing hair down.
